Vilka vi är / Who we are

In English

We are a Catholic Student Society, organised under Sveriges Unga Katoliker (SUK) which is the national association of young Catholics in Sweden. We offer community and activities for students, or other young adults, who are under 30 years of age. You don’t need to be a Catholic to join our group, but we do ask that you respect our values and goals. Through cultural and religious activities, we aim to encourage our members to reflect on and discuss our faith and our life. We meet on Thursdays at 7pm after the evening mass (which is at 6.15pm) in St. Lars parish. Feel free to come by if you are interested!

English Choir at the English Mass

A group of young people takes care of the music on the English mass Sundays at 18.15. The group is open for anyone who likes music and worship. We gather once a week to practice and sometimes we have some ”get togethers” for example to cook food at someones place. There is a great variety of songs and everyone is welcome to bring new songs with them. Most of the members are exchange student but not all of them, so it is a great opportunity to meet new people from everywhere. As we say sometimes in the announcements in church: ”we are a choir by you and for you”.

Those who sing, pray twice!

Invitation from the Student Chaplain

P Fredrik Heiding SJ

Dear student,

if you seek the company of Catholic students in Uppsala, why not knock on our door? We offer a mixture of leisure activities, lectures, Bible sharing, liturgy and retreats. Not few of those who join us are exchange students from abroad, which is why English is our common language. Also those who have another religious persuasion than Roman Catholic are warmly welcome. I am a Jesuit priest, originally from Stockholm, and have experience from student life and chaplaincy work in Munich, Mexico, London and Oxford. Feel free to send me an email or phone me to find out more about the Catholic Student Chaplaincy in Uppsala.

God bless,
Fr. Fredrik Heiding SJ
